All themepark sell actionshots. These are photographs taken in an attraction t certain points. Some even record videos in certain seats (Goliath in Walibi World).
Actionshots typically range anywhere from 7-15 euros (10 - 20 usd). Obviously, nobody really buys them. They are too expensive, and are bulky to carry with you. Some parks allow you to buy photos based on the photonumber, which is nice, but it will still be expensive, and will probably be forgotten about at the end of the day.
There’s an easy solution for this:
Sell actionshots for a low price (1-2 euros), and send them by email
I assume around 40% of the pictures will be sold instead of maybe 0.05%
- increase revenues (duh)
- establish an email-database
- place some ads in the email, in case people forward the email.
Also, I think it’s a good idea to sell flatfee actionshot passes, where you pay one fee for all photos you’re on that day.
This brings me to another technology that should / can be used to improve themepark experience:
Give every visitor an rfid tag, which will be used to track where people went etc. You can use this rfid tag to collect your photos, but also to get a nice interactive map on some computerscreens that will tell you the fastest way to the next attraction, with the least amount of waiting time. Essentially, all your visitors will be guided throughout the themepark in a way that you can prevent traffic jams. The rfid tag could also be used for tracking lost children.
Are you running a themepark, and would like to discuss this? Contact me, or leave a message.
